Cuddle Party is a 3 1/2 hour experiential workshop for adults, 18+ that focuses on communication, boundary setting, safe, nurturing, non-sexual touch. Participants (singles and couples) attend in pj’s., sweats or yoga clothes and after The Welcome Circle which explores our experiences with touch, relationships, going over the Rules of Cuddling, creating a safe container, we move into ‘freestyle cuddling’ which is spooning, snuggling, massage, nuzzling….all with verbal consent.

Who Attends?

The kind of folks you will meet at Cuddle Party are just like those you will see in a supermarket check out line, at your place of business, in libraries, or sitting next to you in a college classroom. They are teachers, executives, parents, students, technicians, mechanics, doctors, attorneys, therapists, marine biologists, and marines.

Why do I do this?

Since our skin is our single biggest organ, it is essential that we experience nurturing touch. What can be referred to as ‘skin hunger,’ is as an important a need to feed as physiological hunger. Without it, studies have shown that babies fail to thrive. Without it, adults do as well. We live in such a touch-deprived and touch-negative society. Many people live alone or work in isolation. According to Virginia Satir, ‘we need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth,’”

Relationship Healings

In the 12 years that I have been a certified facilitator, I have seen relationships start, others thrive and still more, heal as a result of folks attending this powerful workshop. The Cuddle Party Rules (see below) are important guidance for daily life.

More About Cuddle Party

Cuddle Party is a fun and playful non-sexual, nurturing touch workshop in which you can practice communication and boundary setting. It can help to enhance all of your relationships and allow you to learn even more about yourself.

It is for adults who come dressed in pj’s or other comfy clothes and in the 3 1/2 hours we have together, you can practice saying yes to what you want, no to what you don’t want and be open to changing your mind. Make friends, create community, expand your horizons, allow yourself the freedom to do something outside your scope of experience. Some people love it so much, that they attend again and again. Join us and find out why!

Edie Weinstein is a certified Cuddle Party facilitator who has offered over 250 of them since 2005. She helps to create a safe, sacred space for this event to take place.

Admission: $30 per person and bring a friend discount of $25 per person.

  1. Please arrive before 2pm, since doors close at 2:15pm so we can create safe space to begin. Once the Welcome Circle begins, we will not admit anyone.
  2. If you smoke, please do not do so prior to the Cuddle Party, since many, including your facilitator have difficulty with it.
  3. Please bring a blanket to help make the floor extra comfy and cozy.
  4. Feel free to bring snacks to share.
  5. This is a substance free event; no drugs or alcohol.
  6. Bring your open heart and open arms.

Cuddle Party Rules

Pajamas stay on the whole time.

You don’t have to cuddle anyone at a Cuddle Party, ever. You must ask permission and receive a verbal YES before you touch anyone. (Be as specific in your request as you can.)

If you’re a yes, say YES. If you’re a no, say NO. If you’re a maybe, say NO. You are encouraged to change your mind.

Respect your relationship agreements and communicate with your partner.

Get your Cuddle Party Facilitator or the Cuddle Assistant if you have a question or concern or need assistance with anything during the Cuddle Party. Tears and laughter are both welcome.

Respect people’s privacy when sharing about Cuddle Parties.

Keep the Cuddle space tidy.
